That’s what I’m icing my left Achilles with, frozen peas. Why am I icing my left Achilles? Well, because it hurts pretty damn badly. The worst part of it is that I didn’t do anything in specific to injure it. So, here’s my recent “injury” timeline: Most of last week spent not riding due to a lower back that tightened up after the JB race. This week, hardly riding after my left Achilles started acting up during a gravel ride on Saturday.

The frustration level is high and I’m not a fan of downtime. I paid a visit to Dr Landan Webster at the Kinetic Chain this afternoon. Dr Webster brought out the entire arsenal and really went to work on my lower leg. He has performed minor miracles on me in the past and I’m hoping he has another one up his sleeve this time.

It’s pretty tough for me to watch even one training day go down the drain, let alone a few weeks possibly. I guess it happens though and it’s all part of the process. I’m supposed to be getting ready for the first TMBRA Endurance race of the season at Big Cedar. The potential of “coming off the couch” so to speak and racing for 48 miles isn’t very appealing at this point, especially with the riders that I know will be there. Then again, it might be fun..or interesting? Either way, it will be painful.

Frozen peas, for more than eating.
